tomorrow is the day
Tomorrow is November 4th, which means it is officially time for a local election! Things seem hopeless now, and when it comes to tactics many of us are feeling overwhelmed by a lack of overall information and a breadth of directions. Should you volunteer? Offer mutual aid? Sabotage? Go to a protest? Unionize your workplace? The answer is "all of the above". And some of us don't even have the time or motivation to do our dishes!

But one thing you can do is vote. I was never one to motivate people to vote on the national level, especially not with the candidates we've been offered since... well, let's be honest, 1788. But local elections can give you a clearer path forward with a chance for more direct benefit. And this time around, there's a handy slogan to remember as you enter the polling booth: Don't rank Frey!

I'm serious. Any candidate who lauds themselves on not doing their job by rejecting the will of the people is bad news. Want Uber and Lyft drivers to earn a living wage? No you don't- Frey will fight against you every step of the way (while using the elderly and disabled as rhetorical devices, which is not the same as caring about them, BTW.) Want to reform and defund the police to stop them from brutalizing and ruthlessly murdering the most vulnerable in our communities? Too bad. Frey will see to it that the answer is more police, more money, and then claim that them terrorizing our homeless/unhoused neighbors is for our "protection"... get a grip, man.

I won't tell you how to rank your candidates. I may have my issues with every politician that graces my sphere, but even I know when there's a larger strategy at play. Let's kick Frey out and then go from there.
